Fueling Opportunity

We help small businesses in low-income communities grow faster and stronger with safe, affordable, zero-interest microloans.

A force for good.

Small businesses are the backbone of local communities everywhere, yet more than a billion can't access and leverage affordable capital (something big businesses do everyday).

It’s time for change.

We’re making microfinance a force for good and tool for growth.

How it works

  • Sunday is a US registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on financial inclusion, economic development, and poverty alleviation.

We help small businesses grow faster and stronger with safe, affordable, zero-interest loans.

We serve small businesses because they are the backbone of local communities everywhere, yet most are unable to access and leverage affordable capital (something big businesses do everyday) because the microfinance industry is broken and synonymous with usury.

The crushing burden of high interest debt on the shoulders of the poor is well documented, unsustainable, cruel, and decades in the making.

    We're changing that narrative.

Martin Luther King said "On the one hand we are called to play the good Samaritan on life's roadside; but that will be only an initial act. One day we must come to see that the whole Jericho road must be transformed so that men and women will not be constantly beaten and robbed as they make their journey on life's highway."

Helping the underserved, supporting small businesses, and transforming the Jericho road is our mission.

Sunday isn't just a nonprofit, we're a movement to make microfinance radically different, better, and kinder.

We work directly with entrepreneurs without the additional costs of intermediaries.

    OTHER PROGRAMS & SERVICES

We provide advisory services to help banks, NGOs, nonprofits, and governments replicate our work.

We also lend with Kiva and Care.

  • We unofficially got started in 2013 when our founder Bryan Greenwood felt a void in his banking career. He was doing well helping wealthy clients with commercial real estate investments, but he felt like wasn’t making a difference; he wasn't living with purpose.

So he joined a nonprofit organization called Kiva and lent a small sum to a 33 year old mother and small business owner in the Philippines. Her name was Marlyn. In the years following, Bryan did this many times over.

Then in 2020 during the COVID lockdown in Thailand, Bryan had a déjà vu experience. He wanted to do more, but radically different, better, and kinder. That vision and seed of an idea grew into Sunday with the generosity of friends, family, and many other good people.

  • Sunday is led by our board of directors which includes General Lenny Richoux, Mark Stanley, Megan Carroll, Kimberly Kam, Kirk Gadberry, Viren Merchant, and Bryan Greenwood (click on any link to see LinkedIn profiles).

Early supporters who were instrumental in our founding include Simon Levan, Lester Sebastian, Paul Tran, Jason Cropley, Ralph & Janine Greenwood, Vitaly Guzuvaty, Mark Kam, Kimberly Kam, Susan Johnson, Samantha Polon, Matt & Christina Greenwood, Mark Raymond, Adam Dosskey, and Kirk Gadberry.
